Registration and Abstract Submission

NEW DEADLINES!

We have extended the registration and abstract submission deadlines to allow every opportunity for attendees to apply for SDB membership. Here are the new deadlines:

  • SDB Membership Application Deadline: January 15, 2013 (5pm EST)
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: January 20, 2013
  • Early Registration Deadline: January 20, 2013
  • Late Registration Deadline: February 7, 2013 (can attend only, cannot present)

Registration and abstract submission for this meeting is being handled by the national SDB website and Reservations must be done directly throught the University of Utah Guest House website. Prices for registration before January 20, 2013 are listed below. We highly recommend that you register before this date as prices go up $25 on January 21, and you will no longer be able to submit an abstract for the meeting.

All attendees are also invited to present a poster. However, at least one author on the poster must be registered for the meeting. The best poster and talk will receive a $1,000 travel scholarship to present at the SDB Annual Meeting in Cancun, Mexico (June 16-20, 2013).

  1. Apply for or renew SDB membership before January 15: Apply   Renew

    Members get a registration discount, will be considered for short talks and are eligible for the travel scholarship. Find out more about the benefits of being an SDB member at sdbonline.com

  2. Register for the meeting here: Member   Non-member

    Make sure that your SDB membership application has been processed.

  3. Sign up for the Educational Session (optional) at CHOOSE DEVELOPMENT!

    As part of the meeting, we will have an education workshop sponsored by the CHOOSE DEVELOPMENT! program of the Society for Developmental Biology titled "Increasing Diversity in Your Research Environment." Come and learn about the CHOOSE DEVELOPMENT Fellows and Mentors program and the benefits of having a diverse scientific environment. More information is available here.

  4. Submit an abstract (optional) here: Member   Non-member

    The presenting author must be registered for the meeting. Abstracts are limited to 2500 characters. Please, make sure to copy your abstract into the appropriate field as plain text. Copying straight from Microsoft Word can generate an inappropriate character limit error.

  5. Reserve your room at the University Guest House

    Rooms for meeting attendees start at $95 per night and can be reseverved by calling the hotel at 1-888-416-4075. Make sure to mention that you are part of the SDB Meeting group. This price extends through President's Day weekend for those who want to stay to ski or see the sights.

  6. Arrange your travel

    This one is up to you, but we do provide some helpful information under the Travel & Venue tab on the menu bar. Also, make sure to check the Schedule to plan your arrival and departure times.
